A couple of prototypes of a folding sap. Lead filled bridle leather with a steel link (working on a thinner link, expect a photo soon).  Two styles shown, a loop in Walnut bridle and a strap style Chestnut bridle.

Thoughts? Comments?

I am figuring a price of approx. $60-65 for these, includes shipping. I can make any length (of both portions up to 20″).
